Rating Scale

5/5 stars:  Flawless; an absolute must-read.

4/5 stars:  Excellent; very recommended.

3/5 stars:  Not necessarily bad; read if it sounds interesting to you.

2/5 stars:  Something went wrong here; not recommended.

1/5 stars:  Glaringly noncompetitive; highly not recommended.

As you can probably deduce, both five and one star books are fairly rare.  Four star books are ones I enjoyed very much, three star books aren’t to my particular liking, and two star books, while readable, are as a general rule not good.
